THE VILLAGE

KUROSHIMA

Traditional Japanese village untouched by crowds. The town’s tranquil landscape with a sense of unity, which continuously creates the illusion of a time slip from the present day to the past, is still carefully preserved today.

Kuroshima is located in Wajima City, in the northwest part of the Noto Peninsula. This historic neighborhood's preserved architecture is characterized by black glazed roof tiles and wood-paneled walls.

From Edo to Meiji period, Kuroshima prospered as a town of the Kitamae shipowners and preserved a sense of unity and tranquility in its landscape, till the day.
